Field Day!!

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately. Trying to finish up school and you know how that goes (busy busy busy!) Also, I'm finishing up my capstone for grad school and all of the stuff that goes with it, so no time to do the fun stuff! :)

We had field day on Tuesday b/c of the rain on Monday. The weather was overcast and cool so it made for a very nice day!! No humidity that day thank goodness.

Manic Monday Freebie!

It's that time again!! Freebie on Monday. This is my last Monday with this class. Next week are just workdays.

June Currently

Hard to believe it's already June...where did May go?

Just a quick post today....my Currently!

Yes the dryer...sometimes I feel like all I ever do is laundry...and just when I think it's finished...

Only 4 1/2 days left this week with the kiddos. My official last day is the 14th. I didn't take any of my workdays off...too much to do!! And I want to organize (ahem attempt some sort of organization) as I clean and put away so I'm better prepare for next year.

I do have a lot to do....but it'll get done...somehow it always does.

I want a nap. Went to bed late and got up early.

But I have homework to do for grad school tomorrow night...and instead I'm blogging.

On my vacay's I need my bathing suit (b/c normally I'm at the beach), a good pillow (for obvious reasons), and sunscreen (no fun being fried while you are vacay!)

Five For Friday--a little late!

4 1/2 days left. I know that I can do it. Next week...super busy...if only I can finish that last little bit of paperwork...then on to the packing up the classroom....details details.

Missed yesterday...but here it goes.

1. Took some stuff down off of the walls and watched...ahem...movies during EOG testing for those upper grades...(it's really hard to keep 25 kinders quiet ALL day long). Anyhoo..
This was Disney's Oceans (it's really good....but my kids have an attention span of 30 seconds...so we switched movies quite a bit...)

2. I let them sit on their tables to work.....who would've thought this would be the greatest part of their day.

3. Classroom Faces T-Shirts!!! Woohoo....back in October I won a giveaway over at Miss Kindergarten's Blog. Finally got around to ordering these back in April and just now posting about it....slacker..yes..sometimes...no just really busy.

Christina from A+ Images is amazing to work with. She answered every question I had and made it so simple to order. Her responses were very quick and even late at night! (Thanks Christina!!)

Then once we had everything ready to order, I sent it through the mail and it was like no time later they were faxing the layout back to me!! Within a week I had the shirts!!! (They get really busy at the end of the year but the timing worked out for us!!!)

We are saving our shirts for Field Day on Monday! Their parents haven't even seen them yet, so it'll be fun!

4. We took a Virtual tour of the NC Aquarium through the website EducateVia360. They are offering a FREE trail for May only. There are TONS of places for your students to "visit" and learn about. (Sorry for the horrible pictures----the lighting is horrendous in my room!)

You can have it read to the kids, zoom in, rotate, take quizzes, etc. Go check it out and play around with it!

5.And to keep the kiddos active (since we've been cooped up b/c of 3rd/4th grade testing) we've been exercising with Just Dance Videos!!

Happy Memorial Day! Let us all remember why we celebrate this holiday!

I had a great time at the beach (seriously chilly outside!!) but it was still very relaxing which is what hubs and I needed. I actually read a whole book on the Nook this weekend....so no, math folders were not finished, but ya know sometimes..ya just gotta do 'nuffin! :)

So I did 'nuffin with this view!

Five For Friday

It's time for Five for Friday....I don't have a lot going on right now...and my pics are loading right...grr...but here goes! :)

1. My kiddos worked together to create an underwater ocean scene. Some of the finished products won't load up...so here are a couple of them starting their pictures.

2. We watched the Open Sea Cam on Monterey Bay Aquarium's website (hence the idea for the above partner project) but of course the awesome pic I took of the sea turtle and hammerhead shark swimming by the camera will not open....but here's a screen shot!

Aghh...I found a way to share it!! Hope it opens and works! :)

4. I donated items to the Moore, OK relief fund for Teacher's Notebook.

5. And just remembering why we have Memorial Day weekend. I have a lot of family members who have served or are currently serving in various branches of the armed services. Thank you.

Summer Bucket List & Moore, OK Bundle Pack

This is just one idea for construction paper....I'm sooo bad about keeping that "little stuff" organized. But I am going to work my hardest during the workdays to get it together for next year.
